Come into our office at 406 E. Main St., Elida, OH 45807, to fill out a Utility Application. A valid ID is required.
How do I obtain a building permit?
Building permits can be found at the link below. They require approval and payment. This must be done in our office.

Does the Elida Police Department offer house checks for residents of the Village?
Yes, and a house check form can be obtained in our office or on our website.
Does the Elida Police Department inspect golf carts?
Yes, we can do that if you are located inside the Village limits. There is a fee that must be paid before scheduling the appointment.

Does the Village of Elida offer a credit on sewage if I'm just filling my pool for the summer?
Yes, please call us to inform us of the dates you filled.
How do I schedule a large trash pickup (mattress, furniture, etc.)?
Please call the office at least two days prior to trash pickup.
How do I report a streetlight outage?
Please call the office with the address near the streetlight, and we will report it for you. Or, you can submit an issue thru the Report an Issue form.
Who do I contact if my trash or recycling bin is broken or missing?
Call the office, and we’ll report it to Rumpke on your behalf.
What requires a building permit?
You’ll need a permit for items such as fences, patios, pools, home additions, sidewalks, storage sheds, signs, and more.

What are the requirements for a fence?
Fences in rear and side yards may not exceed 6 feet in height. They must not extend past the front wall of your home. On corner lots or front yards, fences or hedges cannot exceed 2½ feet in height if they obstruct visibility.
